The ancient Japanese folk art of printing with painted fish was practiced by fifth graders.

Snow and More Snow

With so much snow to play in, the playground equipment was nearly deserted at recess.

Wants and Needs

 

First graders used their Clown Dollars and bought various items. They had to sort their purchases into "Wants" and "Needs".

Sign of the Beaver

 

Mrs. Perkins' fourth grade reading group has been reading "Sign of the Beaver" by Elizabeth G. Speare. They made models of the cabin described in the novel.

Students of the Month
December 2002
 

Students from third, fourth and fifth grade classrooms were honored at the monthly B.E.S.T. assembly as "Students of the Month" for their efforts during Caring & Sharing Month.
Kindergarten, first and second grade classes recognized students in their classrooms.

An Author Visits

 

Author Pleasant DeSpain shared stories with students during an assembly program. Mr. DeSpain will be presenting a writing workshop for fifth graders.


Tuesday, January 14
Craft Club

These first graders are participating in an afterschool craft club. Dinosaur masks are the order of the day!

Wednesday, January 15
Comparing Stories

 

These first graders have been comparing two versions of the popular children's story, "The Mitten". They created a Venn diagram to show elements of the story that were the same and different.


Friday, January 17
Wacky Day

The Student Council's "Wacky Day" encouraged children to dress in interesting and creative clothes. This boy followed the directions :)
