Fourth graders are preparing reports on New York State animals. Note taking is an important skill and is still best done with paper, pencil and book.

A Trip To the Orchard

 

First graders took a fall trip to the orchard where they saw more than apples!

School Pictures

 

Smiles were required all day long as school pictures were taken.


Tuesday, October 8
Fire Drills

 

Fire drills prepare the children in the event of an emergency. These kindergartners have remembered to exit the building in quiet straight lines.

Wednesday, October 9
Fire Safety

 

Fire safety lessons were brought inside the classrooms as well, as local firefighters visited all classrooms to teach basic fire safety lessons to the children.

Helen Keller's Life

 

Keller Johnson-Thompson, great grandniece of Helen Keller and Ambassador for the American Foundation for the Blind, presented highlights of Helen Keller's life through a slide presentation and talk for fourth grade classes.

Learning About Our Government

 

Mr. Dzikas's fifth grade class has created their own classrrom government, modeled after our United States government.


Wednesday, October 16
Rainy Day Run

 

A rainy day means gym classes indoors. This was a warm-up run to get the blood flowing.

Thursday, October 17
New York State

 

Ms. Javarone's and Miss Holland's fourth graders are making a map of New York State. They are using plywood and plaster to show the mountains and lowlands of our state.


Friday, October 18
Computer Time

 

Kindergartners are learning to "log on" and use the new wireless laptop computers this year.
