Letter From Guatemala

 

Carol Scearce, traveling with the Airline Ambassadors, is helping to distribute over 700 "Care Packages" that Tesago students and families provided to the children in Gutemala known as "The Garbage Dump Kids."

 

 


Wednesday, December 3
A Turkey Trotter

 

Anna ran in Troy's annual "Turkey Trot" and came in third place in her age division.
Congratulations!

"Students of the Month"
November 2003

 

Students from third, fourth and fifth grade classrooms were honored at the monthly B.E.S.T. assembly as "Students of the Month" for their efforts during "Responsibility" Month
Kindergarten, first and second grade classes recognized students in their classrooms.

 


Friday, December 5
Holiday Craft Fair

 

With the sponsorship of the PTA, crafters from the area filled the gymnasium and the children shopped for inexpensive holiday gifts.

Flashlights

 

Fourth graders studied electric circuits and designed their own flashlights.

Holiday Concert

 

The annual holiday chorus concert , performed by fourth and fifth graders and directed by Mr. Bird, was performed during the day for the students and in the evening for families.

 

 


Thursday, December 11
Days Gone By

 

Second graders learned and handled artifacts from "the olden days" when they experienced the Scotia-Glenville Children's Museum program "Days Gone By".

Friday, December 12
Ready for the Theater

 

Theater manners and theater dress are part of the preparation before attending a performance of "Miracle on 34th Street" by the NYS Theatre Institute.

School's Closed

 

The second big snowstorm of the season was kind to the children and extended their weekend.

Tuesday, December 16
Caring and Sharing

 

Tesago's "Caring and Sharing" program, sponsored by the student council and Tesago PTA, encourages students and families to donate items for families in need. Student council representatives sorted contributions from socks to shirts and mittens to toiletries.

Entrepreneurs

 

Fifth graders in Mrs. Scavone's class created new inventions and some new products that tasted great!

An Icy Adventure

 

Morning kindergartners had a real adventure when an unexpected ice storm made the roads unsafe for mid-day buses. The morning classes had a picnic lunch in their classrooms and stayed for the afternoon while their friends in afternoon classes stayed safe at home for the day.

The Puppet People

 

Students saw a wonderfully creative presentation of "A Christmas Carol", performed by The Puppet People, from Schenectady.

Friday, December 19
A Morning Greeting

 

Seasonal holiday music and song in the school lobby welcomed the children upon arrival in the morning, thanks to Mr. Bird and his piano!

History and Music

 

Fifth graders have been learning how music has helped to define events in our country's history.

Tuesday, December 23
Skating

 

Fourth graders walked to the Clifton Common for a little ice skating, a winter pastime enjoyed by the early Dutch settlers they have learned about.
