Fire Drill
This fire drill was a great success. The children exited the building quickly and were silent as they moved through the halls so they could hear any instructions that needed to be given.

Thursday, September 23
New Staff Members
This school year brings many new staff members to Tesago. Not pictured here, Mary Grebe and Itter Randazzo are "traveling" teachers who work with some classes in music and art.

Back to School BBQ
The annual "Back to School Barbeque" was held on Thursday evening. Perfect weather contributed to a great time and pleasant meal for all.

Kindness Tree
Third graders made a kindness tree that reflected the kind things they'd done. (And they had to write in 'complete sentences' to reinforce their grammar lesson!)

Second Graders are learning how to work independently and become self directed learners.

Fire Safety
Firefighters from local fire districts visited classrooms and taught the children important fire safety lessons.

Thursday, October 7
The Great Pumpkins Are Harvested
The first hard frost of the season ended the Garden Club's pumpkin growing season, and the four "Great Pumpkins" were moved into the lobby for the students to see.

Friday, October 8
Second Grade Field Trip
Earlier in the week, second graders, who study different communities, visited Viewmere Farm in Schaghticoke. This opportunity to see a rural community just happened to include a little fun, such as navigating the corn maze.

Friday, October 8
Writer in Residence
Jacqueline Sweeney, a writer and educator from Catskill, spent the week in fourth grade teaching the children to develop their writing with similes, metaphors and "power" adjectives. Ms. Sweeney's poetry has been published in numerous anthologies and magazines.
