"Students of the Month"

Students from third, fourth and fifth grade classrooms were honored at the B.E.S.T. assembly held earlier this month as "Students of the Month" for their efforts during Feelings/Conflict Resolution Month.
Kindergarten, first and second grade classes recognized students in their classrooms.

Turkey Trot Champion

Our own Anna, a fourth grader in Mr. Dzikas's classroom, was the champion in her age division at the annual Thanksgiving "Turkey Trot" in Troy. Congratulations go to all of the area grade school participants of the event!

A Visit by Ludwig van Beethoven

Ludwig van Beethoven, in the person of Dennis Kobry of "Meet the Musicians", discussed his music and his very troubled life. The positive theme to students, "Don't give up!" was emphasised throughout Mr. Kobry's program.

Pajama & Stuffed Animal Day

The Student Council sponsored a special "Pajama and stuffed animals" school spirit day.

Citizenship Education Award

Multiage teacher Sandra Debus was honored at this month's B.E.S.T. assembly when officers of our local post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars awarded her their "National Citizenship Education Teacher Award", recognizing her many years service in promoting citizenship in her classroom and school.

Adopting a Soldier

Mrs. Hickok's third graders have "adopted" Miss Wendy Tetreault, and promise to send letters and pictures (and maybe cookies!) when she begins her service with the United States Navy in the near future.

 


Wednesday, December 15
Caring and Sharing

Tesago's "Caring and Sharing" program, sponsored by the student council and Tesago PTA, encourages students and families to donate items for families in need. Student council representatives sorted contributions from canned and dry food, socks and mittens to toiletries.

Ms. Morse's multiage students have been learning about Mexico and its culture, customs and food.

Dressing for the Theater

When Tesago students attend theater productions, they learn about the entire experience. Dressing for the theater and practicing good theater behavior are important! These third graders saw a production of "The Secret Garden" by the New York State Theater Institute at Russell Sage College.

Tuesday, December 21
Lego® League Competition

These Tesago students, with teammates from our middle schools and high school, participated in RoboNautica IV at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts. The competition required building a robot using Lego® Mindstorms to solve ten problems and presenting a research project on ways to help people with different levels of physical abilities.
