Actions:
1. Overview/Announcements
- Carolyn
agreed to attend the District Partnership meetings to represent TPT. First one is 10/11.
2. Pre-Coaching
- We
read inspirational quotes regarding “change.”
3. State of Tesago
- Class
size is very good – approximately 20, 21, or 22 per class.
- There
are several new staff members, including Andy Fetsko; Katie O’Brien, who
has her own section; a librarian; 2 ISS; and 2 computer aides.
- Regarding
the budget, Tesago will no longer have to pay for substitutes. Thus, we will have more money to use in
our budget. On the flip side, we
won’t get to keep any overage, though.
- Tesago
still has carry-over money, as well.
- Most
of the ’06 staff Wish List has been covered. We have also purchased 5 picnic tables.
- The
new Student Information System (SIS) has gone into effect. The first order is that teachers will
now note attendance on the system.
- Tesago
is a K-through-5 Harcourt school
- June
Coryer and Chris Meagher attended the PLC conference downstate at the end
of the summer.
4. Review of Staff
Meetings
- There
have been 3 so far.
- Kathy
distributed a standard format (which Paul designed) for writing SMART
Goals.
- “The
Vegas Four” presented concepts they learned when they attended a PLC
conference.
5. Review Building
Plan/Motto, Logo
- Kathy
reworked our building plan to incorporate working on the mission
statement, motto (due October 15), logo (due January), and mascot (due by
the end of the school year).
- As
for choosing the motto, each class will work to create one motto. Each grade level will then vote from
the classroom winners for one motto; and finally, all students will vote
from the grade-level winners for THE winner.
- Kathy
will work with Leisa and Linda on outlining and organizing this, and a
timeline.
- The
logo was set to be due in January, but could be done sooner, according to
Linda..
Next meeting: October 12, 2006
On the agenda is discussing how to involve parents/make
parents aware of PLC.
